Welcome to MoreFireNYC! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. I'm Yshaia, an NYC (born and raised!) creative with a passion for chemistry and all things handmade.

I've always had a love of crafts and DIY projects. Creating just about anything with my hands brings me peace. Quilting, an old passion, and candle-making, my new obsession, are my current favorite projects. I taught myself how to make candles, and after a few years of testing and research, I am now able to share all of my clean products with my community. Grateful for that opportunity.

This particular leg of my journey began with studying chemistry in college. The world of atoms and molecules fascinated me, and I delved into the intricacies of the subject with boundless curiosity. Throughout my academic years, I developed a keen eye for detail, honed my problem-solving skills, and learned the importance of meticulous research.

My love for science isn't the only force shaping my life. Growing up in the ever-vibrant NYC, I was exposed to a constant stream of innovation, diversity, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The bustling streets, the iconic skyline, and the melting pot of cultures instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of ideas and the drive to make a difference.

Setting the stage for the spirit I embody are my parents. As entrepreneurs themselves, they were my example of creativity through a business lens. I credit them for my entrepreneurial spirit. Shout out, also, to my grandmother, Maria Fidelis, who taught me how to create body butters while in school. I've been making them for myself and my family ever since.

Although my time studying math and science provided me with a solid foundation, it was my NYC environment and upbringing that instilled in me an enterprising mindset, an unwavering determination, and a commitment to creating a meaningful impact. On this website, you will find a glimpse into my journey, my passion projects, and the innovative solutions I'm working on. Through MoreFireNYC, I'm now able to merge my scientific background with the creativity that keeps me keepin' on.
